Prior to 1986, the 1st season of the GNML, the
team's name was the Tim Horton's 33's Major Bantams for the period of
1984-85, & 1985-86.
In 1986-87, the 1st season of the GNML, the North Bay entry was still
known as the Tim Horton's 33's Major Midgets and the name stuck until
1991. The numbers "33" were part of the name because Dick
Dalton who was a major sponsor of the team, as the owner of the 33rd Tim
Horton's Franchise.
From 1991 until 1994, the team was known as the Fraser Tavern Major
Midgets thanks to Joe Taman who was a major sponsor.
In 1994, the North Bay Trappers a former junior team, became
midgets. Thanks to Andre Rochefort, who gave team president Larry Keenan
the rights for the Major Midgets to use the North Bay Trappers Name
& Logo. |
